What Is Astro-Hypnosis? Astrology Meets Past Life Regression

For years, I did astrology readings. I also did past life regressions. And for a while, I thought of them as two separate practices — different tools, different sessions, different ways of helping people understand themselves.

But I started working with the same clients across both modalities, and we'd start connecting the dots. Patterns in their chart would show up in regression. Memories from past lives would illuminate why certain placements felt so charged. That piqued my interest — I wondered if we could explore the chart more specifically through regression. So I designed a study where clients would go into regression without knowing which parts of their birth chart I was exploring. What surfaced from their subconscious would speak for itself.

Bridging Two Worlds

Astrology is the map of the soul — a snapshot of our energetic patterns, our personality, our purpose. But a map doesn't tell the full story of the journey itself. That's where regression comes in. It makes the chart interactive. Instead of just talking about your soul's journey, you get to step inside it — to feel it, see it, remember it.

We look at key points in the birth chart that symbolize karmic or evolutionary themes, and then use regression to uncover the lived memories connected to them. The goal is never to prove that a specific past life happened, or that your chart means something fated or fixed. The point is to reconnect with the vastness of your soul's memory — to remember that you carry wisdom and emotion from one lifetime to the next, and that through Astro-Hypnosis, those imprints can be healed, integrated, called forward, or reimagined in ways that serve you now.

So what does this look like in practice? Let's start with the astrological framework that guides this work.

The Astrological Framework

Every birth chart contains clues to the soul's development, both in this present lifetime and in others. It's important to consider the whole chart when doing this work, rather than individual placements. This allows a comprehensive story to be told. Still, there are "key players" when it comes to past life signatures, which tell a story about the soul that is articulated through the birth chart.

In Astro-Hypnosis, I often focus on a few key archetypes that illuminate past life patterns and emotional memory:

Pluto
In astrology, Pluto symbolizes transformation — death and rebirth, destruction and renewal. It reveals how the soul evolves through power, surrender, and regeneration. In regression, Pluto themes often arise as lifetimes of intensity: moments when we lost control, misused it, and/or reclaimed it.

The Moon
The Moon represents the soul's emotional memory. It holds the imprint of what it felt like to be alive — the sensory, embodied experience of love, safety, fear, and belonging. Through hypnosis, clients often reconnect with that emotional lineage. They remember the softness of nurture, the ache of loss, the relief of returning home.

The Lunar Nodes
Sometimes called the Nodes of Fate, the North and South Nodes describe the soul's evolutionary direction — the balance between what is familiar and what is newly unfolding. The South Node reflects ingrained habits, skills, or emotional patterns carried from the past; the North Node calls us forward toward growth, balance, and purpose. Exploring these through regression can reveal the soul's unfinished business and wisdom, understanding, and spiritual skills from other lifetimes.

Chiron
Chiron, the archetype of the wounded healer, symbolizes the tender places that long for integration. Our Chiron placement points to a rejection wound, as well as where those wounds can become sources of strength or hardship.

The Overlap
These archetypes don't exist in isolation — they weave together, just like our lived experiences do. Think about the more challenging experiences life brings. The death of a beloved pet may have forced you to grow without that sense of security (Pluto), while also stirring a deep sense of longing and loneliness (the Moon) that you carry in your bones. And still, as grief heals and time carries on, you may find that you can survive loss — and have, in countless ways before (South Node).

All that to say, these archetypes overlap, just as our emotional experiences do.

How Regression Complements the Chart

Astro-Hypnosis doesn't replace traditional astrology or hypnotherapy — it expands and integrates them. During a session, clients are guided into a relaxed, meditative state and invited to access scenes, sensations, or emotions that emerge organically.

Interestingly, clients are not told which placements are being explored. This ensures that what surfaces comes from the subconscious, rather than suggestion or pre-conceived understandings and beliefs the client may have about their own chart. Afterward, we compare those memories to the chart's symbolic map. The parallels are often profound.

A Glimpse into the Work

One client came to me struggling to feel heard in her marriage. During regression, she remembered a lifetime as a young journalist who left home to pursue her career — eventually becoming Editor-in-Chief at an Atlanta-based newspaper. The lifetime carried wisdom around success, specifically around what happens when she uses her voice (people listen!).

Her South Node in Aries in the 10th House reflected that independence, leadership, and courage. Her North Node in Libra — emphasizing harmony, partnership, and balanced collaboration — sits in the 4th House of home and belonging. Through regression, the story of her soul unfolded not as a random pattern, but as a deliberate lesson in balancing self-expression with connection.

Why It Matters

The beauty of using regression alongside astrology is that it taps into the power of the chart while removing speculation or projection by both client and practitioner. It empowers the client to recall what is most significant in their own soul's memory, and the regression allows them to feel and embody those truths differently than a traditional conversation might.

Astro-Hypnosis helps clients reclaim authorship of their stories. Rather than assigning meaning from the outside, it allows the subconscious to speak in its own voice. It transforms the idea that our patterns are punishments or life sentences. Instead, they become stories we've already lived — and can now choose to rewrite.
