Uranus Enters Gemini: Possibilities Abound.

On July 7, 2025, Uranus moves into Gemini, beginning an eight-year chapter that will reshape how we share ideas, process truths, and move through the world. Uranus is known for creating a bit of chaos. It’s a planet responsible for pushing us into the future, and will question what seems to stand in the way of progress. A brilliant and innovative energy, Uranus’ methods propel us into action, either proactively through inspiration, or reactively to address changes happening within and around us. When it changes signs, entire cultural frameworks begin to shift.

With Uranus entering Gemini from July 7-November 7, 2025, look for stories related to power grids, the internet, and how we tell our stories.

Think back to life before the internet. The web didn’t appear out of nowhere; it existed as a concept for decades before becoming a tool we could collectively access. Something had to shift in the cultural consciousness for it to fully land. Now, three decades into digital immersion, we’re approaching another threshold: What lies beyond the internet?

As AI increasingly curates our search results, generates content, and even filters what counts as knowledge, we may find ourselves questioning the legitimacy of the internet landscape altogether. While researching this post, I naturally fell down internet rabbit holes, stumbling upon a concept called the Dead Internet Theory. Once fringe, it suggests we’re already in a post-authenticity era when it comes to the internet, with bots outnumbering humans in terms of content creation, and organic content becoming harder to trust. If humans are no longer the creators and curators of internet-based knowledge, does the internet become a place of irrelevance to humans over time? With Uranus in-play, we can also ask: If the internet is no longer the edge of innovation, where is?

Gemini is a sign of dualities, curiosity, questions, and shifting perspectives. One answer isn’t sufficient with this sign. Uranus moving into this space signals that we are not just expanding technology, we are updating the container for how intelligence, truth, and connection are exchanged and shared.

With that in mind, let’s explore how this planet of rebellion, upheaval, and liberation has shaped our relationship to stability over the last eight years in Taurus, as well as what it might awaken as it begins its journey through Gemini.

Uranus in Taurus (2018–2026): Values Under Pressure

Uranus entered Taurus in May 2018 and will make a brief return in late 2025 before leaving the sign entirely in April 2026. Taurus is a grounding point in astrology. It is a sign concerned with what is tangible, reliable, and nourishing. It governs currency and monetary systems, land (nature), food systems, and relationships. Uranus, on the other hand, disrupts what it touches, shaking loose what’s become too rigid.

They’re an uneasy match. Taurus resists change; Uranus demands it. The last time Uranus transited Taurus (1934–1942), the world was in the grip of the Great Depression. Governments took extreme steps to regain control of collapsing financial systems. In the U.S., the dollar’s value fluctuated dramatically as the country abandoned the gold standard and ramped up spending to fund a war. In Germany, runaway inflation reached such levels that workers were cashing paychecks twice a day before their earnings lost value. Economic volatility created widespread desperation, paving the way for fascist ideologies to take hold.

In this recent cycle, we’ve witnessed similar themes, only now in digital form. Cryptocurrency, the blockchain, and decentralized finance surged and corrected with equally Uranian unpredictability. Digital currency is an especially clear signature of this transit: Taurus rules money; Uranus rules the internet. Food systems and supply chains, shaken by climate pressure and inflation, have exposed the fragility of global infrastructure. Debates around land ownership, bodily autonomy, and wealth inequality surged, too — from the fast-tracking of oil pipelines to the privatization of protected lands.

Uranus in Gemini (2025–2033): Information is Power

As Uranus enters Gemini, the pace accelerates. Gemini is a mutable air sign ruled by Mercury. It governs communication, media, travel, language, and cognition. If Taurus represents the ground, Gemini is the breeze that moves across it: Shifting, scattered, full of motion and momentum.

The last Uranus in Gemini cycle (1941–1949) unfolded during and after World War II. It was a time of enormous global transition, where control of information was as strategic as control of territory. The Allies used radar, encrypted radio, and early computing machines like the Colossus to outmaneuver opponents. Propaganda campaigns shaped national identity. Mass communication tools like television and broadcast radio began changing how people saw themselves and the world.

What emerged was a new kind of warfare, one that was not just military, but informational.

In the years ahead, we’ll likely see another leap in the power of information. AI, quantum computing, and machine learning will evolve rapidly. Brain-computer interfaces are no longer science fiction, and education will move further into decentralized platforms. But with that comes new questions: Who owns data? Who controls the narrative? What happens to critical thought in an era of synthetic information?

Gemini is also the sign of the trickster. Gemini brings contradiction and multiplicity. Uranus here may fracture attention, create polarizing communication bubbles, or challenge our sense of truth altogether. At its highest expression, it can awaken new ways of thinking, helping us weave complex, nuanced understandings of identity, ethics, and knowledge itself.

Important Support: Uranus in Gemini Trines Pluto in Aquarius

Overlaying this shift is a rare and powerful trine between Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. Pluto, now in Aquarius until 2044, is slowly excavating the deeper structures of technological power, surveillance, collective identity, and control.

Zohran Mamdani, who unseated Andrew Cuomo to become the Democratic candidate for Mayor of New York, has a Libra Sun and Aquarius Moon, placements that will be strongly activated by the upcoming Uranus–Pluto trine. His chart suggests he’ll be a compelling figure to watch in the years ahead.

When Uranus comes into harmonious aspect with Pluto, we get a surge of energy that supports innovation, system-wide change, and the emergence of networked intelligence. Uranus is the planetary ruler of Aquarius, meaning the planet will get some top-notch coaching and guidance during this trine (which will re-activate in May 2026-early 2027). These are not just technological advances but collective shifts in how we experience reality.

Together, these planets support:

  • The dismantling of outdated models of leadership and education

  • The rise of decentralized, people-powered technologies

  • A redefinition of what it means to be “connected”

  • Greater voice and representation from the masses, but traditional containers likely aren’t a resource for this uprising (so look for new types of leaders and innovation around how people mobilize).

These changes may be invisible at first, like a shift in wind pressure before a storm. But they are already shaping the intellectual and spiritual environment of the coming decade.
